Vettriano’s “Her Secret Life II” shows a reverse picture of "Her Secret Life", featuring the same pretty young woman making a phone call from a public phone box. The seaside scenery is similar, but she is using a different phone box than in the original Secret Life painting. She seems to be wearing almost the same outfit - has she been waiting for a long time for her secret lover, calling him to check if he is still coming to meet her? She's gripping the phone box, appearing to be anxious and strained, not relaxed and full of expectation like in the first picture. She may be wondering if he forgot their confidential appointment.
