Jack Vettriano’s “Devotion II” depicts an attractive woman viewed from behind who is dressed in high heels, black stockings with suspenders, and she is wearing a red corset. She is standing on a table, her legs spread apart and her hands resting on her hips. Only her body is shown, her head is not visible, but she is the centre of the painting and plays the key role. Her pose demonstrates self-confidence and superiority, it is obvious that she is the dominant person, and she determines the reactions of the male. He is sitting on the edge of a sofa, being in a lower position than she is, looking up to her, his arms raised to her hips and his hands resting on her bottom, ready to undress her. He has taken off his jacket and loosened his tie. His face is not visible. Vettriano painted a demanding female, the male fascinated by her sexual appearance and completely devoted to her.
